Jockeys Additional Benefits
In June of this year the Australian Racing Board Ltd in conjunction with the Australian Jockeys Association and the principal racing authorities organised through Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers (Australasia) to provide a level of cover for all licensed Jockeys / Apprentices for loss of income due to injury / accident. At the time advice was given that additional cover would be made available as an option for Jockeys / Apprentices and would include higher income provision and extra policy options such as Stable Gear and Equipment Insurance.
Outlined below are the optional benefits. These extensions are offered to individual jockeys / apprentices that wish to supplement their cover. You may elect all of the additional benefits / higher limits offered or just some of them.
The Insurers
The Personal Accident Scheme is arranged by Lumley Insurance, the Insurer covering the National Personal Accident Program.
The Stable Gear and Equipment Insurance is arranged by Protectsure Pty Ltd, an authorised agent of Chubb Insurance Company of Australia Pty Ltd. Chubb is a leading, multi billion dollar, global property and casualty insurance company.

The procedure to take up the additional benefits is as follows:
1. If you wish to take up the Personal Accident Additional Benefits only, please complete the proposal form attached and forward it to us by:

Please call us on (02) 8267 9999 if you wish to take up Stable Gear and Equipment Insurance only.
2. Upon receiving your completed proposal, our Jockeys’ Insurance adviser will contact you to discuss the insurance in regards to covers and premium.
Please note that cover will not be in place until accepted by the Insurer and advised by Gow-Gates.
